The internet has been flooded with Batman v Superman rumours as fans eagerly await the cinematic superhero clash. This week has been an especially busy one for Zack Snyder’s upcoming film, with LexCorp images, sneak peeks and potential new cast members all hitting the online world.
Fans got their first look at iconic super villain Lex Luthor’s “LexCorp.” While details are thin on the “street tough” and self-made billionaire that will feature in Snyder’s release, we can at least feast our eyes on what his base will look like. Posted by The Mars Dust Network, the building in Pontiac, Detroit is decked out in white and has a large ‘X’ logo affixed in pride of place.
Although some may be questioning whether it’s big enough for the world’s baddest billionaire, the level of security is not in doubt. One source said: “the security on the set is the tightest and most impressive even the most seasoned professionals on the job have ever seen in their entire career.”
It seems that Superman and Batman would have a tough time breaking into LexCorp, but maybe they could succeed with a little help from Robin, a.k.a. Harry Potter.
In an interview with Buzzfeed Brews, Daniel Radcliffe expressed interest in playing the role of Robin in the rumoured reboot The Batman, slated for a 2019 release. When asked if he would ever work on another mega franchise, he was wise to pick Batman as his choice. The series is the sixth most successful movie franchises of all time, sparking toys, Legos and themed games such as those on royalvegas.com.
Before Chris Terrio took over script duties on the Batman v Superman production, news was that Nightwing would be making an appearance. However, now it seems unlikely that the character will feature at all. Therefore, if Radcliffe does get his wish, he would be the first live-action Robin to appear on the silver screen since Chris O’Donnell back in the 1990’s.
While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice isn’t set for release until the 16th of May, 2016, those who just can’t wait two years may be able to get a sneak peek at this year’s Comic-Con. Warner Bros. have already announced plans to reveal their DC movie roadmap and possibly the cast of the Justice League movie at the convention. Now Latino Review’s Umberto “El Mayimbe” Gonzalez has suggested that first footage of the film will also be on the cards.
Gonzalez also shared rumours that the new Batmobile will make its Comic-Con debut in San Diego, but it seems we may only have to wait until the 24th of July to catch a glimpse of Dawn of Justice.
